From STUDIOCANAL comes the new trailer and premiere date for RADIOACTIVE, starring Rosamund Pike.
STUDIOCANAL today launch the main trailer for Marjane Satrapi’s RADIOACTIVE and confirm the UK Premiere, which will take place Sunday 8 March at The Curzon Mayfair followed by a Q&A with star Rosamund Pike (Marie Curie) & director Marjane Satrapi. Celebrating the pioneering work of Marie Curie, the event will take place on International Women’s Day with the Q&A broadcast into cinemas nationwide.
From the 1870s to the modern era, RADIOACTIVE is a journey through Marie Curie’s (Rosamund Pike) enduring legacies – her passionate relationships, scientific breakthroughs, and the consequences that followed for her and for the world. After meeting fellow scientist Pierre Curie (Sam Riley), the pair go on to marry and change the face of science forever by their discovery of radioactivity. The genius of the Curies’ world-changing discoveries and the ensuing Nobel Prize propels the devoted couple into the international limelight. From renowned producers, WORKING TITLE (DARKEST HOUR) and Shoebox Films (ATONEMENT), and Academy Award® nominated director, Marjane Satrapi, comes a bold, visionary depiction of the transformative effects and ensuing fallout of the Curie’s work and how this shaped the defining moments of the 20th Century.
The film stars BAFTA and Academy Award® nominee Rosamund Pike (GONE GIRL, A UNITED KINGDOM), Sam Riley (CONTROL, MALEFICENT), Aneurin Barnard (THE GOLDFINCH, DUNKIRK) Anya Taylor-Joy (THE WITCH, SPLIT) Simon Russell Beale (THE DEATH OF STALIN, INTO THE WOODS) and is directed by Academy Award® nominated Marjane Satrapi (PERSEPOLIS, THE VOICES).
STUDIOCANAL and Amazon Studios are co-financing the feature film with STUDIOCANAL handling international sales and releasing the film in their territories including the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Amazon Studios will release the film in the US. Shoebox Films and Working Title Films are producing.
RADIOACTIVE is released in the UK on 20th March 2020
